Most times the fish dies a slow, painful death. Once they get past your dark and cramped plumbing, they start to encounter the chemicals that are in the sewers and the sewage treatment plant. The chemicals slowly burn them and the fish will eventually die from chemical contamination. It is a very cruel way to kill a fish, despite the fact that most people think it is the best and kindest way to kill one. However, if the fish in question is already dead, then there is no harm in flushing it.

You saw Finding Nemo ten times, and didn't catch that the little girl's name was Darla... or that they didn't flush him down the toilet? (the toilet was 'the plan' but the dentist was going to toss him in the trash can when Nemo faked his 'belly up' which forced the Pelican to break into the room and cause chaos.

The bag landed on the dentist tray, and the angel fish flopped on it, and sent Nemo down the dentist sink... to freedom.

All besides the point, however - since the pipes usually go into the sewage system.... Depending on where you are, it could be different - I personally live in the country and we have a septic tank underground. If it goes down the drain, it pretty much ends up in a big... bottle. Feces, Urine, dishwater... whatever. All goes to the same place. If it's in the sewer, it would have all the same stuff, just some rain water every once in a while - and it would be very disgusting and lots of ammonia which would burn your fish.

You'd never have the Nemo Ending to your poor fish if you flush them alive.

If Nemo was real life, he'd be killed from the polluted water. Fish will probably suffer a painful death in those water.

It goes to fish heaven. lol but seriously, they go to your water refinery or something like that and they clean it and that's what you drink or use from your faucet.

It usually goes to the sewer, or whatever your toilet is hooked up to.
