You can buy pickling lime and use it to mix kalkwasser, it's the same stuff.
Shake 1-2 teaspoons in to a gallon of fresh water, then let it sit for 24 hours to settle. Pour off the liquid (discard the sediment) and then set it up to drip slowly into the tank. You'll need a pH test kit or pH meter to make sure you don't add it too fast. Kalk has a high pH, so watch out for a rise. It's best to drip it in overnight, since the tank's pH naturally falls during this time.
