I used to have a beta fish he lived to 2 years almost 3 and i used to feed him about 1 a day but if he is really hungry I would feed him 2 times. My beta fish used to eat gold fish food, they do not need specific food!

Unfotunately, the only way to know how much to feed a Beta is to get an Alpha, and observe how much it eats. The Beta should be happy with the same diet. However, it is very hard to find an Alpha.

I feed my Beta Tetra-Min Flake food. I have tried the pellets but I don't like them much because they drop down the bottom and make it harder for the little fishie to eat. There is also a fish food that I bought at Wal-Mart, it is a 7 day supply. It dissolves little by little each day and releases enough food for the fish for a week. My fish hasn't died yet.

Tetra-Min is a flake food and just a small pinch every two hours. Very small earth worms are found on pavements at the grassy edge after a good rain is a real treat. I use tweezers to pick them up. Brine shrimp by the eye dropper just before mating. Keep in a 12 x 6 tank with no more than three inches of water. No gravel if nesting. No snails!!! Keep pond water ready after hatching, remove female after the male chases her into a corner after mating and remove male after the Fourth day after hatching. You must have brine shrimp or food rich pond water if you expect to raise Betas.

You should feed your betta twice a day as much as it will eat in 5-10 seconds.

You should also plan on doing a DAILY water change of the container it is in if it holds less than 1 gallon of water.

about 3-5 pellets once a day. The less you feed the betta, the longer he will live. The number one reason why bettas die so fast is that they are over fed. Hikari pellets or HBH Betta bites are the best food. They don't eat flakes very well...

daily.

And use distilled water! My betas love distilled water and have lived for 2-3 years on the average per beta.

Feed your betta 2-4 pellets every other day! It can go up to a week without food if you go on Vacation!

feed as many pellets as he will eat in 5 min (start with about 4 and see if you need more).

if you know how much... you once a day would be more than enough as for my own male Beta...
