Feeding Snails Certain Foods With a Betta?

Hey again! I have two mystery snails (Ivory and Gold) in my betta's 5 gallon tank. He seems undisturbed by their moving into the tank, and they have done a good job getting rid of some algae on the gravel. They appear to be looking for other forms of food, but I don't know what I'm limited to putting in the tank because there is a betta in there too. I have heard of putting in zucchini, broccoli, and even bananas and tomatoes, but I'm worried about my betta's health. Will the introduced snail treats harm the betta or the water conditions in anyway? Also, are there any other things I could feed to the snails?
Thanks for all your help!

Great choice by getting the snails! They're hardy and great cleaners, and will eat almost any waste in your tank. Much better choice, in my opinion, than getting a pleco or similar algae eating fish. Just watch out, snails multiply like CRAZY unless there's a predator to eat them, especially mystery snails. They reproduce sexually, which means there must be at least two, however females can store sperm from the males after a single mating, and they can lay fertile eggs for several months afterwards, that's what makes some people think they reproduce asexually. However, I believe mystery snails are hermaphrodites, which means they have both male and female sex organs. I've never seen my two apple snails have offspring, but then again I have 2 big (4 inch and 5 inch angelfish) and a 6" Gold Gourami, so maybe that's why. The only thing I would be worried about in terms of water quality is if the snails die, that will release ammonia (and it's hard to tell, unless they're always active, and even then they could be hibernating), and I believe that the food (if not removed at the end of each day, and maybe even if it is removed) rotting would cause ammonia/nitrite buildup. However, feeding fish lettuce, zucchini, broccoli, and cucumbers is completely fine! Tomato and bananas I've never heard of, but you learn something new every day. Unless you thoroughly research it, I'd advise against it (a lot of the calories in tomatoes and bananas come from sugars). Good luck, and I hope your tank stays clean and healthy!

You can put in zucchini, broccoli, snow peas, carrots (etc) and algae wafers (i use hikari algae wafers but I only put in as much as the snail can eat because if uneaten it can make the water smell) just run the veggie under hot water to get them soft take out any uneaten food.

You can find a recipe for snail jello.

If all of the uneaten food is taken out then it will not harm the betta at all.

Get a tank no longer a bowl. save it at seventy two-seventy 4 ranges Farenheit. Feed it tropical fish nutrition or betta nutrition, they have the two with classes on the field. do no longer positioned the snail interior the tank till there is algae on the partitions, the snail ought to starve in case you positioned him in a sparkling tank. positioned it on the bookcase no longer the shifting table, might you pick to be rocked lower back and forward in any respect hours of the day? positioned some issues interior the tank, hues don't be counted. Neon tetras and sword-tails get alongside with betas while in a huge sufficient tank. No fancy tail guppies, they're close cousins and the betta will attack it.
