Guppies are not the easiest Tropical fish to manage. I breed them and the older pregnant females are fragile. The males seem stronger.

I don't know anything about itch sorry.

If you are using tap water, you need to add water conditioner for fish to remove chlorine, flouride etc.

You MUST have a working well maintained filter. Keep the temp around 28degrees C.

Vacuum the gravel at least once a week. 20% of the water.

Has your tank been cycled properly?

Guppies need constant attention, but it can be great fun. I had 200 Guppy fry born last month.

Here is a link to my fancy guppy males, posted yesterday.; http://www.flickr.com/photos/diane_lyn/5207868920/

Good luck

I think that the problem might be your ratio of males to female guppies. The proper ratio of males to females is 1 male for every 2 (Minimum) or more females. This is because your males will stress out your female guppies and harass them to death. If you had more than one female the male would spread out the stress and harassment.

Another reason they might have been dieing, since your water quality is fine is that you are not getting them from a reputable source. The store might carry sick and unhealthy fish.

You should do 25% water changes daily. When you siphon out the water (it's better to do it with a gravel vacuum but isn't necessary) and when you put the new water in you MUST put in tap water conditioner/chlorine remover. If there is enough chlorine in the tank it will kill your fish. I would add the salt (any salt that is iodine free) every 3-6 days. Do not put to much.

Good Luck, and Hope this Helps.

i do not imagine she is pregnant, sorry. If she became pregnant then she might want to are turning out to be fat, gotten a gap on her in the back of lower than her abdomen, and then immediatly had toddlers at the same time as she sunk to the bottom. She does no longer be making waiting for 4 days and he or she does no longer have stopped ingesting. She is maximum probable sick.
