Question:
Why is my pregnant Guppy acting weird?

I have 2 male guppies, and i just bought 2 females earlier today. One looks very pregnant! (the pet store workers said it was extremely common to buy a female and have it already pregnant).
Anyways, i had them all together, when i realized just how pregnant she really looked, and how the males were kinda bugging her! So i chose to move her in a separate container. It has rocks and a small fake plant for the fry to hide in when their born. I made the water a tad warmer, because it supposed to speed the pregnancy along (and its better for the babies). But now the pregnant fish is swimming a lot more, up and down the side of the tank. I rather her be alone for when she gives birth, because i don't want the others eating the fry... but i am worried i am just stressed her out by moving her. I gave her some food and she eats it, but spits most back out... Is she okay? I am mostly concerned about how much she is now swimming around however. Any explinations or advice?
Also any other tips on pregnant guppies and raising the baby fry would be amazing! thanks s much(:

The female guppy is nervous by being in that container, and when it is time for them to give birth they act that way in anticipation. Everything will be fine.

Have fun.

First, you should always have more females then males. It is also common for males to pay attention to heavily pregnant females. She should be in a 10 gallon at least. In anything less she will stress and pace at the aquarium glass. It is also important not to stress her by putting her in a small area. If the aquarium is at least a 8-10 gallon she will be fine. I have heard of people using 5 gallons which will work temporary. It is best to buy a separate 10 gallon for a nursery.

As for her being more active, chances are the heat being increased made her more happy and she is thriving. You are right, putting the temperature on 80 degrees will help her go into labor faster. Just keep an eye on her cause she too will eat her babies. When you see that is done giving birth remove her from the fry.

Before giving birth it is normal for females to stop eating and showing interest in food. Since yours is taking it in then spitting it out, I assume she does not like the brand. If it continues try switching to a different brand.

She will take on a square look before giving birth.

She is probably not quite ready. The males hang around to eat the fry. Feed her live foods if you can. Like finely chopped earthworms. Be patient the female guppys will drop fry every 28 days give or take a few hours.

If I were you, I would put her back with the others and add some more plants to the tank. Yes, some of the fry will be eaten, but she could have a LOT.

I say you should put her back because you said you have her in a container.

the males could have been trying to breed with her, i have had ballon mollies and they do it all the time, i have seen my male balloon molly trying to breed with my balloon molly many times over the past few weeks, i don't know why they do it so much :/
