Noseless is nice yet he didnt factor out each and every situation. Fancy sorts must have 30 gallons, (20 is pushing it) with double filtiration and 10 gallons for each additonal fish even if in case you want common or comet goldfish you want an seventy 5 gallon tank with double filtiration considering that general basic goldfish are technically pond fish. 20 gallons in accordance to an more beneficial fish

I agree with KoolKat. Goldfish are cold water fish and like the mid 50's to mid 60's.

Don't need a heater at all! Goldfish like the cold! Even though it sounds like you might have too many goldfish in your 10 gallon tank! Please don't add any more fish!

first things first you shouldn't have 6 goldfish in a 10gal tank they need more room and they can get bigger. second they like it in cooler water, but you seriously need a bigger tank or less fish because it will cause more decease and your fish will die.

Goldfish are members of the carp family, and are therefore "coldwater" or "coolwater" fish. They thrive in temps of upper 50's to mid 60's. what do you plan on doing with your goldfish? Are they feeders to be fed to other fish? Quarantine them for about two weeks before feeding them to the other fish. If you plan to keep them to maturity as pets, you will need to get a much bigger tank. You will need a minimum of 70 gallons to properly house 6 adult goldfish. The so-called feeders you buy in the pet store get to about a foot long, and are capable of living for decades. (As are all goldfish, they are naturally long lived fish)If you keep your 6 goldfish in the ten gallon tank, they will slowly die off in about six months due to the water pollution,or the stress from too small an environment.

The ideal range for a freshwater tank with most tropical fish is 77 to 83 degrees. This will make 95 percent of the fish out there very happy. For a saltwater tank, the range is 76 to 82 degrees. For the reef aquarium, slightly cooler at 76 to 78 degrees is best.
**Make sure you have a thermommeter. They'll bob in the tank so you can read them.
