We had four koi carp in our pond and the three beautifull golden ones have gone missing and the black one is the only one left now.. Family is quiet upset as we've had them for such a long time..
whats the possibility a predator took them or is than unlikely as they are such big fish?

The predator is probably watching them in his own pond at this moment.

Yep somethings decided to eat them. Same thing happened with our pond of goldfish - a herron was picking them off untill all the orange ones were gone and only black ones were left...It moved off after a while once all the brighter fish were gone, I guess it couldnt see the black ones. We ended up buying more fish and adding some more plant coverage in the pond and its been going fine now. I guess if you wanted to be really sure about yor fish's safety you could lay some mesh grids over the top of the pond to keep what evers eating them out

Yep. Definitely a predator.

I would say the possibility is 100%. Anything from the size of a fox on up would do that.

Bird, racoon, many different animals will pick fish out of your pond and eat them.
