I have in a 1 year old 12 gallon eclipse tank:
3 neon tetras,
2 glassfish,
1 oto,
2 platies,
2 endlers,
2 bronze albino corys

Is my tank overstocked and if not would you recomend I add any more. Like should i add another neon or glassfish. or another oto?

That sounds quite overstocked to me. What are your water parameters and how often are you doing water changes? I'm concerned that even if you have enough filtration to keep the ammonia and nitrite levels down, that you'll have sky-high nitrates and/or major algae problems.

In addition, you've stocked several schooling fish, but in numbers too small for the fish to have a real school. :( The corys in particular are going to suffer from not having a school. Unfortunately, you don't have enough room to give them some friends. You should either give them back to the fish store, or start saving up for a larger tank.

yeah, I'd say maybe a tiny bit but not enough to cause a problem. if it's been alright for a year I wouldn't worry. however hen thinking about your next tank take into consideration that tetras are schooling fish and like being in groups of at least 5 as do the glassfish. even the cories like groups.

as I said, if its be alright for this long I wouldn't worry, but it's just something to keep in mind for next time.

The only fish in there that will get the biggest would be the glass fish.

But with or without the glassfish, as long as you keep up with your water changes, it should be fine.

little too much. Just hope you have enough filtration and do frequant water changes. I wouldnt add any more fish either.

This is the rule our family went by. For every gallon you should have 1 inch of a fish. A 12nch fish would be the same as 12 one inch fishies.

Thats the bast answer I can give without seeing your tank or the size of your fish.

Also depends on how aggressive some fish are.

But make room if you plan on them having babies....some fish breed like rabbits.

My dad has a PHD as a vet and this is the rule our family went by. It worked great for us! Just make sure you keep the needs of each type of fish in mind.

take out the tetras, glassifhs, and cories and take them back. Then you tank will be fine with just the livebearers
