I'm putting a 30 gallon fish tank on a bookshelf. It's made of REAL wood, not particle junk and the shelf sits on metal thingys that stick out, the entire tank and evrything will weigh about 305lbs. What could I do to reinforce that shelf to be able to hold it. What if put another shelf underneath it or 2 or 3 of them, then it would spread the weight out. What do you think?

I would not suggest doing that..I agree with the answer above...get a stand instead..I know they are expensive..but that is what they are made for...so you really won't have to think much about it....the bookshelf idea could be dangerous..not only to ur fishies..but think about the mess at your place....It is always advised to get a sturdy tank stand for tanks over 10G....

I wouldn't do it. Maybe a solid bookcase would hold it but not one with those little pegs to hold the shelves. Not only the weight issue on the shelf but the chance of it falling over from being top heavy would be too big a risk to take. A 30 gallon tank is a large tank to try and put on a book case.

I would suggest putting it on the lowest one and putting sturdy wood or some kind of strong material to hold it up. I personally wouldn't suggest doing it. But if your going to anyway put something strong under the shelf to absorb weight.
