260 watt coral lamp supporting corals?

I am getting a 260 watt coral lamp for a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium what corals can grow with that lamp. i think its 50/50 aswell.

yes with out metal halide you can only grow softies like mushrooms, zoas, and leather,......or acros all the way down to the sand bed



now granted hes running 800 total watts as opposed to your 260, meaning you will have to keep your sps up high, but you got a long way before your ready for that

We need more details. What kind of bulbs are they? how high above the water will the light be? Color temp? MHs, T-5s (with proper reflectors), VHOs and PCs will grow most corals, though some are better than others.

first off get ride of the 50/50 coral need all of the light they can get

and without metal halides you can only keep soft corals

mushrooms. stay away from hard coral and anemones.
